Now that you’ve reviewed the course overview and completed the introductory survey, you are ready to move on to some listening practice! Using videos to practice listening can be helpful because it includes both visual and auditory elements. You can see the people who are talking and take context and body language into account. There are 3 different videos below that show people ordering from restaurants. As you watch the videos, you will be prompted to answer questions to test your listening skills. The videos get progressively more challenging; the first video has subtitles so you can read while you listen. The questions in the first video focus most on stating what you would like to order, while the later videos contain more phrases for asking questions or requesting accommodations. Below each video you will find a link to a video transcript so you can follow along if you feel like you need more practice.
